TV Pirveli is a Georgian news and current-affairs channel founded in 2014 by media executive Vato Tsereteli, who remains its sole owner and general director. It began national broadcasting in 2015 under the motto “At the epicenter of the events,” built around breaking news and daily political coverage rather than entertainment.
The channel’s lineup features some of Georgia’s best-known journalists and interviewers, including Inga Grigolia, Vakho Sanaia and Nino Zhizhilashvili, who anchor its bulletins and headline its interview and investigative programs. TV Pirveli has built a reputation for editorial independence and direct political interviews, drawing viewers — including much of the Georgian diaspora — who want current-affairs coverage as an alternative to the country’s larger, entertainment-driven networks.
