Imedi began as Radio Imedi on 105.9 FM before the television channel launched in 2003, founded by businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili. The name means “hope” in Georgian, and the channel broadcasts nationwide under a general terrestrial, cable and satellite license.
Imedi’s schedule centers on its long-running news brand Qronika (Chronicle) and its daily bulletin, supported by the morning show Imedis Dila and the weekend review Imedis Kvira. Its entertainment lineup includes formats like HIT Show, the singing competition Mimgere, the cooking competition Kulinaruli Dueli, and locally produced dramas such as Vendetta and Shavi Guli.
